For others it may be a physical condition such as an illness or a death in the family. Actually stress is our response to these situations, not the situations themselves. Challenging life situations happen to all of us. The more energy and vitality we have, the more easily we meet and adapt to challenging situations. These 9 healthy lifestyle habits build a natural foundation of energy and vitality. They help us become more resilient to the challenges of life. They help to minimize the stress response.
Breathe slowly and deeply several times a day. Breath is essential to life. It brings required oxygen for metabolism. It carries away toxins we no longer need. When we are caught in a stress response, our breathing tends to become rapid and shallow. When we breathe slowly and deeply we relax. Drink at least 8 glasses of pure water every day. This practice supports our healthy hydration. We lose fluid every day as part of our natural body processes. When we fail to replace it we can become mildly or severely dehydrated. Virtually every biochemical reaction in our bodies requires adequate water. To function with optimum health drink pure water or herb tea and avoid caffeinated drinks.
While stress management strategies and techniques may help there will also be instances where you will need expert help just to put things into greater perspective and allow you to see which methods will work and which won’t; because as you obviously already know, not every stress management program or method will work for you. You will need to find your very own personalized set of techniques that will fit your lifestyle.
When looking for expert help, try looking up stress management training programs on the internet and you will find that there are plenty of programs available that you can learn from, with whatever you may be dealing with. Stress management training will prove itself invaluable when you feel that you are beginning to feel burned out and have no other methods in your arsenal that seem to work.
Why? Because it recharged my soul. And the look of love from my wife’s face when she walked in the door, saw it and found out I had cut it down myself, was worth more than any amount of money. Sure, I could have sat at home on the computer and been working for those 2 hours and probably done something that would have pulled in a lot of money. But sometimes you need to walk away from your business and recharge yourself. What is the reason you started working in the first place? Freedom. Freedom to do what you want when you want without thinking of the cost. So when your work keeps you away from your loved ones or ties you up with constant money concerns then it’s doing the exact opposite of what you wanted from it. We need to stop and look at what we are doing sometimes. Don’t just get caught up in what is going on around you. Remember WHY you were doing something in the first place. Make sure that what is happening is still in line with your goals. If it’s not, then take a break a change it.
Just for the record I am not advocating doing everything yourself. If you do that with your business you’ll never have time for your family. Too many people pay others to do the fun stuff for them while they get stuck with the boring things. Give the boring stuff to someone else. * Hire an accountant to look after your accounts. * Hire a cleaner to clean your house. * Hire an assistant to do your paper work and filing. Then instead of paying someone else, leave the fun stuff for yourself. * Go cut down a Christmas tree with your family. * Take the dogs for a walk yourself. * Spend an extra day each week with your kids. You may feel like it is costing you more to do it this way in the beginning. BUT, I guarantee you it’ll work out better for you in the long run. You will be happier, more energetic and love what you’re doing. And when you are resting and spending time with your loved ones your creative mind will be growing and you will come up with new and exciting ways to expand your business. You won’t feel trapped by your business. You’ll feel free. You won’t resent the interruptions from your loved ones. You’ll Love them. You won’t be stressed and constantly tired. You’ll be Joyful and at peace.
